Men' s Respect For Women March

Men' s Respect For Women March which, in partnership with our Brother Council # 1105,  took place in Antigonish town on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Beginning at the town post office, walking 1.5 km' s through downtown to Columbus Field for a speech delivered by Msgr. Hugh MacPherson Council # 14596 Grand Knight Peter Gosbee on domestic abuse.

     Approximately 225- 275 people attended the march including the Town Mayor, County Warden and Councellors, members of the Lions & Kinsmen Clubs, high school football coaches and team players, local women' s support groups, members from both local KoC Councils, many families young and old. Tremendous support for our first one! A fundraising bbq after the speech took in $1, 414.47 for the 'Daughters of Ottilia' Fund, set up to care for the 5 young daughters of Dr. Ottilia Chareka, the St.F.X. University professor whose tragic death initiated this project.
