Father Gerald Mackenzie Council 8608 hosted on Aug. 1 for two shows at the Hector Arena in Pictou .Both shows sold out. A large number of Knights and their spouses were decked out in red t-shirts for the occasion. A planning team had worked since Feb. to plan for this event. The Council selected to groups to salute at each show. Part of the performance recognizes a local group or individual for their service to the community. The two groups were the 144 Construction Engineer Flight of the Canadian Military and all of the local volunteer fire departments in Pictou County.
