Brothers
it has been over one month since Archbishop Mancini spoke to over 180 Nova
Scotia, Knights at Saint Benedict. In his talk to us he “Challenged” us to step
up and increase our activity in the areas that really matter concerning our
church and our faith. He explained his vision for the “Gospel of Life Project”
and he asked us to help. He made a point of asking “The Executive” to form
a “Task Force” to find ways to do this. He asked us to concentrate our
efforts on the six key points of The Gospel of Life Project which are outlined
below. But he asked us to concentrate especially on Numbers 1&2
“I have come
that they may have life and have it abundantly” Jn.
10:10
“Jesus sent out these Twelve
after instructing them thus, “Go to the lost sheep of the house of
Israel.
As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Cure the
sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have
received; without cost you are to give.”
4. Celebrate:
To celebrate the lived commitment of many of the faithful who work for a society
committed to Life in a wide variety of ministries and activities.
5. Dialogue:
To promote civil discourse and prayerful reflection together in such a way that
all feel called to be part of the conversation.
6. Stimulate:
To stimulate all Christians to assume their role as witnesses to the Gospel of
Life in their communities.
